Now we all know how bad diet/heath drink mixes usually taste... right? Yeh, they can be pretty ick.
There's a new kid on the block tho' and it's GOOD!

Shake the Crave is a new, highly researched, product from Trusted Health Products. It comes in Vanilla {w/ real vanilla beans} and Chocolate and they are pretty awesome. I know because I just tried them! :)
{Disclosure: Trusted Health Products sent me 2 packets of product free of charge. All opinions here are mine + are unreviewed by anyone.}

Now anyone who knows me knows I have some weight to loose and, like most people, that number on the scale has been going up and down for more years than I care to think about. I just had a monumental birthday and have vowed to get rid of the weight once and for all - and along comes Shake the Crave. This might be the thing that jump starts my process to my goal. Let me say that I'm really picky about what I eat when I am able to be. At home we eat grass-fed meats, lots of fruits and veggies, don't eat HFCS, have very little sugar in the house {mostly to lightly sweeten tea & fill the hummingbird feeder}, and are grain-free. As such my taste buds have changed and, altho' I've never craved sweets, normal sweet foods are often too sweet for me. I do, however, crave breads - which I don't eat anymore. of course. {and you'd think I'd loose weight on this Paleo approach, and I have, but throw in being an older person with a underachieving thyroid... disaster for weight loss}

Okay, so yesterday morning I tried the Vanilla flavor - Let me just say YUM! I expected the usual diet shake flavor - you know what I'm talking about. Shake the Crave vanilla was GOOD. I totally wouldn't mind drinking this a time or two a day. In fact I wish there was more of it in a serving. It kept me full for about 4 hours, as I went about my morning, which was great since I often don't have breakfast. {I know I know} So, that was a winner. No after-taste, no weird mouth feel {but I guess it should be noted that I don't have any sensitivity issues} just a real shake-like experience. I used 1 cup of raw whole milk and followed the directions.

Ingredients:
Organic Non-Fat Dry Milk, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Coconut Powder, Organic Ground Vanilla Bean (in Vanilla Shake Mix), Organic Cocoa Powder (in Chocolate Shake Mix), Electrolyte Blend (Potassium Citrate, Calcium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Sulfate, Potassium Phosphate, Potassium Chloride).
Allergen information: Contains milk and tree nuts (coconut).

I applaud them for using real sugar as I think we have all had enough of the high fructose corn syrup in our lives. It was easy to make - pop in the blender - easy easy. The blender even rinsed out easily unlike when I make my own smoothie with a million ingredients that stick to the sides of the container.

So, this morning I tried the Chocolate flavor... IKR. Chocolate is almost always bad bad bad in the shake world. But Shake the Crave came through again for the win. I will say I'm not a huge chocolate fan, but I don't dislike it either. The chocolate flavor in this shake was nice and ... well chocolate-y. It was a bit too sweet for me and somehow coated my throat a bit, but I wouldn't call it chalky, nor gritty, so it might have just been the "too sweet" factor - it was still good and I think most people with normal sweet tolerance would be fine with it. I would definitely drink it again, no prob.

I really really appreciate that the ingredients contain no GMOs, artificial anything, no fillers, no MSG... Love that!

"Every ingredient in Shake the Crave has a common purpose: to benefit your body directly. No fillers, no fluff. Just pure ingredients working together to nourish your body and help you feel fuller longer."
